Stop the Coyote Killing Derbies

Coyote killing derbies continue unabated in Cascadia, and it is past time state wildlife commissions begin to reign in these killing contests. Currently, organizers of the “Big Valley Coyote Drive” in Modoc County, California, are collecting monies to hold yet another coyote hunting contest on February 7-9, 2014 in the borderlands of California and Oregon.These events constitute vigilante wildlife management that are based on dated anti-predator prejudices unsupported by modern science and do not reflect any appreciation of our current understanding of the ecological value of predators in healthy ecosystems. Please take action now to stop these ruthless contests.
